Sheila Bridges is one of the plethora of black people who won’t be highlighted on CNN’s “Victim Black in America.” And go figure. She was named “America’s Best Interior Designer” by CNN and Time Magazine. Sheila Bridges is the founder of Sheila Bridges Design Inc., a company committed to creating thought-provoking and comfortable high-end residential spaces. That’s right. I said “high end.”  Just because you can’t afford it now doesn’t mean that it can’t inspire you. No matter what your budget is design inspiration comes in places high and low. It’s all about thinking outside of the box.

Chick is bald and fierce.  And she represents the best of what it means to be American and Black: Excellence.  Get Togetha first got a glimpse of Sheila’s design portfolio at the Studio Museum in Harlem Store; where her infamous Harlem Toille Wall Paper Print and “Furnishing Forward” book were being sold. Her style is eccentric, comfortable, livable, and timeless. You can learn more about her here at The Nest Maker and Sheila Bridges dot com. Her TV show, Sheila Bridges Designer Living, airs on The Fine Living Network.

I’m so glad you’ve introduced Sheila Bridges. I have never heard of her before. OMG, she is SO amazing. And, yes the “Black in America” show, especially the one on the men was just torture, depressing, uninspiring…a hot mess!

She’s a star and I’ve admired her for quite some time. I have no words for CNN and Black in America. Yawn.

Sheila Bridges is amazing! I forgot to add that she designed the office suite for Bill Clinton on 125th Street. If you Google her you’ll see her amazing work.

    Best.

    @ sdg1844.

I’m glad you decided to trust your intuition regarding CNN and Soledad’s perspective on being Black and Living in America. I wasn’t so fortunate and decided to go to a neighbors house to watch “The Black Woman and Family” episode. Of course it was totally hyper-inflated bologna. To each is own. I dont’ expect CNN or any type of media reportage to empower me nor define me.
