it amazes me.

Commentary on TV.

Depending upon how many hours you invest; the spectator sport of watching television is the black vortex of quality living. I call it the plug in drug. And I decided over ten years ago that I wouldn’t make it the center piece of my life; cause I couldn’t bear the thought of passively watching someone else live out their dreams of being on television while my weren’t even being given a snowball’s chance in hell.

No way. No how.

Yes! TV can be inspiring and uplifting; but lets not front. It can and will suck the life out of you if you let it. Read: A quality life has never been about being a passive spectator. Never. And don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. The time you give away to television can’t ever be taken back. You have the power of choice as your ally. Call a friend, read a book, get a massage, meditate, go to the park, cook a new dish, have friends over, make love, go dancing, play music, and make your life a priority. You’ll do some of your best living ever.

Good post! Since I work from home, it is easy to get caught up in tv. You can look up and 3 hours have past and you are still sitting in the same spot.

I don’t mean to make it seem as if television can’t be a form of entertainment that we can all enjoy from time to time; just not senseless TV…I won’t name any names.

I probably post more “amens” on this blog than anywhere else in the blogsphere. So here is another one: AMEN!

I won’t front; I own a TV, and I have digital cable to boot; however, I would rather read, play chess, make love, listen to music or call a passionately-missed friend than spend my precious time in front of a television set. I decide what three (or four, if 24 is in season) shows I am going to watch at the beginning of each season (Oprah, Gray’s and ANTM), and those are it for me. Controlling my television intake keeps me focused on living my best life and not wishing I had someone else’s life.

    Infinite Grace.

p.s. I don’t think children under the age of seven should watch TV at all!!! :-)

    Thanks Ramona gurl.

I write whatever my spirit feels is necessary. TV is just ughhhhh…sometimes.

And don’t worry…Oprah and “What Not to Wear” are like crack cocaine to me.
