non-negotiable.

I don’t do paper plates; its a non-negotiable. So let’s get that out of the way. And I recommend you do the same. My thinking is that Cooking leads to eating. Eating leads to nutrition. Nutrition leads to health. Health leads to Longevity. And longevity is what we are aiming for. Somehow a paper plate doesn’t fit within that plan.

Got four good plates? Use em. Everyday. I don’t care if your eating Crab Dip and Ritz Crackers or Thanksgiving Dinner. Use your good stuff. And so what if a plate and cup gets dirty? Are you really saving time or are you cheating yourself out of a small opportunity to show and prove that you’re worth it? Think it’s not that deep? Think again.

There are too many companies out here making beautiful things at every price point for you to do otherwise. Think abundance. What are the expectations for your life if your eating your longevity on tree mulch?

Q & A:  What is your non-negotiable for treating yourself well?

Taking a vacation is non-negotiable for treating myself well. Love the site BTW.

I have to comment on the paper plates. I totally agree with you. I love my dishes and my bowls. I use them every day. One of my personal non-negotiables is doing the dishes. I handwash my dishes. I don’t use a dishwasher. I only use the dishwasher in extreme emergencies or once a quarter (empty) just to keep the parts working. LOL

    Kristin.

    True story.

One day I went over to a friends for Thanksgiving day. She’s a tremendous cook and when dinner time was ready the chick pulled out paper plates and plastic utensils! For Thanksgiving…

Y’all are too funny!!! I know she did not pull out plastic at Thanksgiving!!! LMAO!!!

I love your “no plastic” rule!!! I am having a party on Sunday, and I don’t own enough glassware to serve everybody, so I searched high and low for some “real looking” plastic. No such luck. I ended up getting some colorful plates and napkins. I am tempted to buy a new set of dishes.

I did, however, buy two beautiful glass ice buckets!!!

So, my non-negotible… I gotta give that some thought. Wonderful post, as always!!!

Hi – this is my 1st visit to your site. I agree with you so much about paper plates. I don’t have any in my home and I eat all on plates that I love.

My non-negotiable is…one day a week is all mine. No phone calls from friends, family or anyone else. It’s a day where I take time for me and do what I like on my own. Otherwise I’m a beast.

Good Luck with your party Ramona. I’m sure it’ll turn out great! As for the plates its all about getting creative and not matchy-matchy!

Sundays are my off limits days. It’s the one day of the week solely devoted to me and most ppl know that about me. It’s nice to have the time to check in with yourself so to speak.

I seen where you had made a comment on brownsista and I clicked on you name to see what your blog was about. I like your concept of treating yourself well an other positive things. I get tired of the mundane celebrity gossip blogs and negativity it brings.

Yes gurl! Treating yourself well is imperative!

Celebrity gossip has had it’s heyday in my life….I’ll peek my head in there every now and then….but as for chiming in on celebrity diggs….I”m done. I don’t want the karma.

Sundays are non-negotiable except in a few cases. I like to have one day a week just for me.

Simone. Taking time for yourself IS a NON-Negotiable. I’m happy to hear that you assign an entire day for just “you.”
