ego
Lessons learned: gossip not only distracts you from living your life fully; it is also at its core of cores high grade resentment. That combustible mixture of anger, envy, jealousy, judgement all poured into a tall cool glass of haterade served with side order of “Life is not Fair” fries.
The script goes a little something like this and you can insert celeb substitutes:
“How dare Beyonce get all the luck of beauty and body, loving parents, Grammys, be a 9 figure millionaire, and travel around the world with an equally insanely rich husband? And her talent? Mediocre at best. Let’s rip her to shreds!!”
As a nation we just love to hate. We love Rags to Riches stories; but don’t get too big cause then we’ll tear you down too. No one gets a pass. Not even Saint Oprah and her lesbian lover Gayle.* Five short years ago celebrity gossip blogs exploded on the Internet scene becoming a scathing cash cow and now the National Enquirer is considered a reliable source.**
GT can’t front. I was chiming in. HARD. I would laugh at other peoples responses, read peoples responses to mine, feel great, laugh some more, awe the comedic brilliance, judge pics, wag my finger, have community, and savor the sweet taste of criticizing overpaid and overexposed celebs. But in my heart of hearts I knew if I didn’t stop this diet of resentment that I would be karmically screwing myself. Giving myself ZERO percent chances for joy and abundance to appear in my life.
If you don’t check the ego; it will do a number on you.

I used to laugh as well, but I just have zero interest in these folks. I just learned it’s self defeating and bad news to obsess so much on other people’s lives. I’m scared to wake up and find mine has passed me by.

You speak of consciousness and the ego a lot, are you a fan of Eckhart Tolle?
I agree with you completely. I think people look at celebrity and they think they have a great life and have no problems, so I have to find something wrong with them. Your exactly right it is the ego. Makes the ego feel better when they speak negatively about that person. But it’s only temporary. I think we just all need to love ourselves more and realize that we have a great life too. Sure we have problems but so does everyone and we may not be rich but we have other things that are just as great. Like those things that money cannot buy like love, health, peace of mind, etc.

Tip.
It takes a lot of soul searching to live in truth. And the discovery of my ego and how it worked on my perceptions of life has been nothing short of mind blowing. I am a fan of spiritual reading cause it helps me grown deeper within myself. So yes I’ve read books by Tolle.
Living in truth is by no means easy; but its freeing. And that’s what I want my readers to come away with when engaging in this site.

Also.
Health. Peace of Mind, Tranquility, Love and Living truthfully are all things that are clearly undervalued in our society.

Sometimes you think gossip is just harmless; but you are so on point when you talk about karma. Whenever I get in that negative space I either stop and take a breath or give my son a hug. Sometimes you can get so blinded by celeb life and the materialism.

I used to love me some gossip. Being able to think my situation was better than others propped me up. I always knew that it was a useless exercise, but I didn’t have the maturity and confidence in myself to let that stuff go. Now, I could care less because it’s MY LIFE that’s important to ME.

Here. Here. Simone.
I knew I had to chill when I read a story about the paparazzi calling the fire department to get a celeb out of her apartment-just so they could take pictures of the baby.
