Unconventional success is the order of the day with GT cause I am impassioned with the idea of persistence. She was bold enough to launch her own clothing line at the age of 23 but faltered because of lack of funding.
But you know there’s a happy ending. Think: Harriet Tubman wears Prada.
“Locked up and won’t let me out” mayor Kwame Kilpatrick will have you believing different. But some good things do come out of Detroit. Meet Tracy Reese. A humble Detroit native from a working class family who successfully runs design house label “Plenty” and handles the seasonal runway trifecta of New York, MIlan, and Paris. She is one of a handful of designers who has survived the five year mark when thousands of aspiring and partially successful designers come and go. No easy feat.
GT is inspired by Tracey cause the chick irresistibly knows what women want to buy. Tracey has the ability to dress YOU; the person with forgivable flaws. She serves women’s curves, not so washboard abs, and covers stretch marks while simultaneously dressing the walking chopsticks on the runway. Again. No easy feat.
I’m just waiting for her to dress Michelle Obama.

She’s a designer that I will support. I’ve seen some of her clothes and they are lovely. I want to start revamping my wardrobe and she’ll get some $$$ from me.
Having beautiful, well made clothing and supporting a talented Black woman is double the pleasure.

Simone and Tip.
Tracey is one of those women who will work a curve and a line. And you can find great deals online for her line “Plenty”.
And Ms. Obama can make a potato sack look haute couture…..

LOVE Tracy Reese! Ever since they did a story about her in Suede Magazine (*snif sniff* may she rest in peace), I’ve been enthralled!
