the allure.

1. The allure is the flicker of that mini bonfire. 2. It can put you in a meditative trance if you let it. And 3. You’ll never met an ugly person lit by candlelight. It’s damn near impossible.

Back in the day a candle was that dusty something that you had under your bathroom sink just in case the lights went out. But now they are DIY living quality must have. Whether tea lights for a meditative party of one, tapers for a romantic dinner for two, or votives for a Get Togetha of ten.

My tastes aren’t your tastes. So I don’t do gels, anything fruity, or bright colors. No offense but I think they’re cheesy  and they remind me of all things geriatric. For the most part GT likes clean contemporary lines and I tend to stick with floral scented essential oils and snob soy based white candles. Gardenia and Patchouli are some of my favorites.

If you want to learn more you can get your Master’s Degree here. And then you can shop at Etsy for quality affordable options.

Raise your hand. What types of candles are in your sanctuary? Do you have a go to candle company?

I’m a fan of Illuminations. I’ve been purchasing their candles for a long time. I like clean scents. I’m not a big fan of floral or spicey scents at all. Candles just set a mood and tone that’s unbeatable for any gathering.

    Simone.

    Is the company Illuminations online?

Lighting for a gathering. You’d be surprised how many folks will have overwhelming overhead lighting. I help a friend throw a Writer’s Salon Togetha and he insisted that his guests didn’t mind the Halogen lighting from the ceiling.

Tsk. Some people just have to have things their way.

Yes, they are. The url is below. I used to visit their store on b’way and 16th or 17th street. I can’t stand overhead lighting. It’s either task lighting, candles table or floor lamps for me.
