Being away from home inspired GT to do this smug post.
At today’s pricepoints there really aren’t any excuses for having flat drool stained pillows or itchy smelly zero thread count bed sheets. But you’d be surprised. GT has the friends and relatives to prove that this tackification exists.
GT is not saying to get all diva and ack like you can’t sleep on anything less than a 600 thread count; but you may have to channel your inner high maintenance to understand what’s at stake here. So let’s do the math. You’re supposed get eight hours a night. Times that by 365. That’s how much time you spend, give or take, on blissful bed covers or a raggedy mess.
Trust. Anything over 300 and you’re straight. And you have your pick of the litter when it comes to affordability. The power of a great bed cannot and should not be slept on. Pun intended.

Right on time with this one – I have a question. I had cheap sheets. About 6 months ago, I decided to upgrade. Got better sheets. 400 count I think. Pilled up right quick. Bought another set about 3 months ago – 4 or 500 count. Guess what? They’re all pilled up now. What gives? I’d seriously appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.

Hey Nerd Girl.
I’m far from being an expert on sheets; could be a variety of factors why your sheets are pilling. But there’s no denying that high thread count sheets are living quality. Here’s a link that can perhaps get you started.

I’m just getting on board the thread count road. Nothing like soft, tightly woven sheets to take you to happy town.

Isn’t happy town the goal?

I used to think it was all about the thread count. Indeed, thread count IS a factor in quality sheets, but as Nerd Girl pointed out, it’s not THE only factor. Case in point, thinking I was doing something, I bought sheets with 600 thread count from Tarjay. A couple of weeks later, I bouht sheets with 250 thread count BUT made from pima cotton. Soooo, good quality cotton (i.e. pima or egyptian) is more important than actual thread count. Thread count doesn’t amount to a hill of beans if the cotton is wack. Hope that helps!

I forgot to add that the 250 pima cottons felt infinitely more delicious than the 600s.
