I have two. The first is how un-adult I feel. I don’t feel “grown” even as I hit my late 30s. The second is how very unfair life is. I am still shocked at how unequitable life can be.
That at the age of thirty *cough*, having been amrried over a decade and with plenty of kids, I talk to my mom and STILL feel like a non adult sometimes. Shrug. How can I be in a car with my kids on MY cell talkin to mama feeling like a kid? Weird.
It’s not as …I don’t know what. It’s just not what I thought it would be. As a child, I couldn’t *wait* to become an adult. Now, I wish I could go back to my childhood, heh.
What surprises me most about adult life is making a living. I really wanted to be the kid who grew up to give a million dollars to the homeless dude on the street…
It surprises me how selfish and self-interested people can be…
I’m surprised at how I am so much like my mother…
No one likes to admit that they are in debt. So I applaud you. As a kid you have no idea of what bills really are…

I think we all having moments when we wish we could go back to sucking on lollipops and playing double dutch…If we only knew then what we know now.

Yep. People in Corporate America get down like that. But you’d be surprised how other sectors can get down…

You’re expressed sentiment hits on the nail with lots of folks. i can’t count how many times I’ve secretly resented kids who were born into wealthy families and overpaid celebs….Jeebus..

That I am an ACTUAL adult. I’m still coming to terms with it in a good way. How petty, mean spirited and mediocre so many ppl in Corp. America are.

I am surprised that it took me all the way to age 29 to realize that I was beautiful— naturally, took 29 years to be comfy in my own epidermis….
