No, it's not TALENT that is in the eye of the beholder. Talent is what it is TALENT, and generally speaking can not be taken away from a person (by the beholder, that is). It's the willingness of the beholder to accept or reject that talent for whatever reason that catapults one into stardom or doom. ie. Just because one says that Diddy can rap, doesn't make it so.

@Harlem Chic
Skill can be measured; but talents come in many forms; not just the obvious ones like singing, dancing, rapping or acting...

@Tatum
Don't even get me started on rappers becoming actors...I read somewhere that Mary J. Blige is going to play Nina Simone....errrrr....I just don't see that working out....

@ Simone
Diddy is a good business man. Now whether he's happy cannot be determined. He may be persistent as hell but why he stay having negativity surrounding him? Me think its bad karma...

95% of Hollyweird and the music business cause me to scratch my head. Diddy is a good business man, though the case could be argued since every artist he touches turns to nothing.

Although I hate to admit it, there are far too many celebrities that cause me curiosity of the baffling sort. Virtually the entire set of multimillionaire rappers who cash in on material that can't take more than eight/ nine minutes to write strikes me as such.

Then there are the rappers and r&b singers turned actors who by all means should expand their careers but who should not replace trained and skilled black actors - a dying breed (E.g. Kimberly Elise, Jeffrey Wright).

Overall, talent can be measured by, in part, the impact it leaves with its audience, and as I sit and witness the talent on display, generally speaking, it leaves me cold and uninspired.

You're on point GT. Talent can't be measured. But there is level of skill. Cause let's face it ...Jennifer Hudson has more vocal skill than a Rihanna ...but talent is in the eye of the beholder....

It can't be measured; but I guess its compared incessantly.

Let's see....How the hell did Alicia Keys end up the Swiss Beats? Now that don't make no sense...!!!!
