fun details.
The doorknob is a sorely overlooked detail in the home; mainly because we turn them every day without ever giving them a second thought. Kinda like putting the milk away in the fridge and changing the cat litter. But do yourself a favor and upgrade at least one of your love handles. This is fun DIY nirvana. Every time you turn the knob thereafter it will put a smile on your face cause you’ll be tickled pink by how something so simple can have such a huge impact on your living space.

4. Scalloped Romantic Detail. And sexy as hell.

6. A glass orgy. I’m feeling that turquoise one.

*Of course you can peruse door knob pics online…but all doors aren’t created equal so the best way to start your search is at your local hardware store; cause there are mechanics involve. It’s nothing like building a NASA spaceship so you should be ok; but there are tons of manufacturers, finishes, and types of door knobs to consider. This is not like warming a burrito up in the microwave. Yes it requires a little footwork but the end results smash.
GT has totally got the hots for number four. Which one(s) ring your bell?

Hey Ramona.
The green and turquoise one is from a UK company called Papilio.
Here’s the link:http://www.papilio.co.uk/index.html…I emailed them to see if they ship or have authorized sellers in the US. Keep your fingers crossed!

Number 3 sure brings back memories. Just about all of my relatives’ South Louisiana houses had them when I was growing up. A couple of people had em on their formal living room french doors too. I thought they were so elegant.

Loving the all black, all white, and the scalloped ones. And I’m always a sucker for an antique.
Hmmm, maybe my knobs need upgrading.

Wow, this is so funny because I was just looking at finials for my daughters’ dresser. I love tiny embellishments like doorknobs. We live in an apartment that had the UGLIEST most BORING doorknobs. So we upgraded them and will be taking them with us when we move on up.
People don’t notice ugly knobs but anything different from the norm will definitely stick out and result in compliments.

I am drooling over these knobs……this is actually one of the reasons why I can’t wait to have a non-apartment home; it’s all in the details!
Thank you for stopping by my blog; I really like yours. I left comment responses on the comments you left….do you have a Fotki or something where we can talk hair?
Take care!

Hey Boba.
Don’t know what a Fotki is…But yes you can change at least one door knob in an apartment rental. But I understand if you don’t wanna go through the hassle…
And thanks for the compliment…
