GT has been waiting for this fateful day to arrive. I’ve been tagged yall. It means that the gates of heaven have descended upon my blog kingdom and GT is now officially official. Mmm’kay…that was corny. Here are six little unknown facts about me.
  1. I’m a Black and White photographer and I’ve exhibited at the SMH. My photo exhibited next to an original Gordon Parks photo. Pure Nirvana!
  2. I’ve been told that I have nice feet.
  3. To release my fire I dance. I’ve danced African for 8 years but I’m currently addicted to Salsa.
  4. I met my husband roller-skating. Yes. On eight wheels.
  5. I love a chunky bold ring. It’s a part of my signature style.
  6. I’ve traveled to Portugal, Toronto, Senegal, and Pre-Katrina New Orleans; but I’ve yet to experience the West Coast. I’m dying to explore the Bay Area of California and Seattle.
I hope that was fun reading for you.
I now put the pressure tag Naturally Alise, TJ, Ramona, Simone, Harlem Chic, & Cee Cee.

I took African dance after I had my first daughter to get back in shape and man, did it work. My teacher worked our BUTTS off. I am dying to try ballroom (too much DWTS) in the very near future.

I met my husband while he was waiting on me and my friend at a restaurant. I have heard so many non-conventional “how I met my spouse” stories – I feel like someone should write a book. We were actually going to go eat at a place down the street but decided at the last minute to go there. It’s funny how one split decision can change your whole life.

    Huemanity.

It’s funny how fate works. I generally don’t believe in accidents; I think the Universe delivers right on time.

Yes. Gordon Parks. It was such and honor. I was also blessed to attend this icon’s funeral at the Theatre of the Riverside Church in Harlem.

    Hey Ramona.

I always say that doubt means don’t. If you aren’t yet clear about your sexuality don’t enter the contract (marriage and kids.) Plus marriage ain’t for everyone. Cause it’s just a piece of paper without committment, trust, integrity, and truth.

We all have different paths in this life and its up to us to honor them authentically. Like my mother would say…don’t force your size 8 foot into a 10.

    GT,

    I hear you

Like you said, the keys are committment, trust, integrity and truth. For me, the question of sexuality is much more than with whom I choose to share my bed/body.

I want my marriage (and all my relationships, really) to be a space in which I feel comfortable being completely woman.

Thanks for allowing GTDOTCOM to be a place where these discussions can happen.

    No prob. Ramona.

Whomever you decide to share your life must to wholly accept the totality of you: mind, body and spirit. I know plenty of married people who don’t have that kind of acceptance in their marriages.
