GT fam…what it do?

Let’s see umm… GT hooked up with a friend and had the driest veggie burger ever. I sketched out details for my  Election night party, had a glass of wine or two and once again became inspired by the awesomeness of the NYC Marathon Runners this past Sunday. Being a spectator of the race has become an annual Fall rites of passage for the hubby and I. It’s fun to root people on and to egg them closer to the finish line. Even when they have fourteen miles to go out of a 30 mile race. They are better than me. I can barely eek out thirty minutes on my treadmill without wanting to make it stop.

*Sigh*

GT will admit. I am way too attached to the outcome of this election. And I have the butterflies in my tummy to prove it. Hence the above pic. But when you tell the truth no one can use it against you.

How was your wknd?

Unfruitful and hurty (LOL). I did, however, make it out to the $1 sale and found some really cool stuff. Chilled at my friend’s bday party and went home because my back was (and still is) killing me. Ugh.

I’m shredding a tee and watching Iron Chef to take my mind off everything.

I can hardly sit still. Everyone is talking about it, I listen more than I participate and I’m crossing fingers, toes, knees, everything crossable and I’ve been sending up some serious prayers too.

Weekend was restful. Halloween outing where I dressed up as Serena from Gossip Girl (lol). Met up with some friends I hadn’t seen in almost a year. Slept pretty much the whole day on Saturday, kicked myself for touching only one thing on my to-do-list for Saturday on Sunday.

Spent the weekend with some friends and had an intense discussion on the election. They are a married couple and he leans Dem and she was raised by a Right Wing Repub mom. Makes for interesting dialogue. ;)

    Hey, y’all!

Well, the weekend was a blast, but I am tired as hell.

Saturday: I hosted my first literary soiree! It was intense– lots of laughter and lots of tears in between the many glasses of wine and champagne. Reading to each other is really intimate, so choosing the right group for this occasion was a challenge, but I think I chose well; the night was certainly memorable. GT, that quiche was KICK-ASS!!! Thanks so much for the recipe. I might serve it again next weekend at book club.

Sunday: Slightly hung over, but I made it to a wonderful Unitarian Universalist church service. The service was dedicated to remembering and honoring the dead. Whew, the service was intense. I went to lunch with a girl from the church– the jury is still out on her though. Girlfriend kept trying to let me know that she dates black guys–”rough” black guys. Lord. Anyway, at least the food was good.

Sunday night I went knocking on doors for Obama!

Needless to say, I am too tense for words today! GT, I, too, have butterflies that I can’t get rid of. Man, this is crazy. Tonight, let’s just all pray for a better world.

    Peace (and Go Obama!).

People have been having voting parties in our metropolitan area for the past couple of weeks or so. Oregon is a mail in/drive in state for the ballots. We went shopping Saturday. then we came home to a nice, warm, home cooked meal and a movie.

    GT,

We are reading Marilynne Robinson’s Housekeeping. I am not finished with the book, but I will let you know what I think about the novel early next week.
