Talking about stuff is therapeutic to some people.
On a totally random note, that's a nice wallpaper backdrop behind those chairs.

At some point, grown folks have to stand up and get their life done. No matter who their parents are, what color they are or how they treat their hair.

Alicia.

The color issue has been beaten like a dead horse and I realize that there's a lot of hurt and pain behind it. But what I don't get is how we'll continue to identify with that pain; rather than do something about it.

I'm a brownie and growing up I heard the comments; but if I let that stop me I wouldn't be here in this moment doing what I love...

Plus. There's a deep misperception that light skinned folks have easier lives...nothing could be further from the truth.

Very well said.

I know it's easier said than done, but IMO people need to pack up their issues, realize that SELF-esteem is controlled by the one who owns it, and move forward. We can't be on this color-war thing forever. It's not productive.
