your space.

We all know someone if not ourselves who’s feeling the pinch of our economic times. But that doesn’t mean that we can’t appreciate what we have. We might not living in our dream condo or loft, but we all have something about our living space that we can cherish. It could be  your lighting, closet space, eat in kitchen, a claw foot tub, that chair you found on the sidewalk, your grandma’s furniture, your chandelier, your kitchen appliances; something that would make us go out kicking and screaming if it was taken away…

GT for one loves the natural sunlight in my apartment and the fact that I’ve been blessed with a pretty nice view.

What makes you smile about your living space?

Right now I am in transition from my “own” space, but the thing I treasure that is in storage is my sleigh-bed, I got it for close to free on cragslist and it is a masterpiece in oak, it has unique carvings in it, and makes me eternally happy. Also, I have a set of the coolest picture frames that I found at a yard sale many, many years ago that are the wood (the same wood as my bed) with unique carvings…..

Quite honestly, I just love that the space is mine! Sometimes I look around and realize that my hard work made it possible for me to own and live in this space. Right now, I simply love the potential of the space. I look forward to being able to afford to make it a home– chair by chair, lamp by lamp and painting by painting.

Thanks for the question, GT; you reminded me that I have much for which to be thankful.

I love the way people react to the color I’ve painted my foyer. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my apartment.

I have a lamp I bought from West Elm that I absolutely adore. It’s frivolous, stylish and it makes me smile. I love walking in after a long day, hanging up my keys and kicking back. The house is going to get a much needed overhaul in the New Year. That’s even MORE exciting. ;)

My room, I painted it green. I also love how my wardrobe closet turned out after I made a few changes and arranged everything.

My bar. And the decor is very eclectic in and of itself. It just looks cool. LOL.

My room is green too! I like the color and my bay window and my walk in closet. And the window in the walk in closet. :)

Windows are nice….. calming … relaxing… especially when there is a fab view and its a brisk drizzly day cuddled up in front of a fire with a GREAT book. Let your imagination run wild!!!!
