in your beeswax.

Happy Monday folks…

GT mailed out her first givaway and as promised sent Holiday cards to five lucky GT readers. Just doing my part to spread some cheer. As for my weekend, me and the hubby went to Bryant Park, froze our hides off in 19 degree weather, then went to see Gran Torino cause GT is a huge fan of Clint “ole leather bag face” Eastwood. Anyone who shys away from “botchilism for the face” known as Botox will always be a friend of GT. Anywrinkleyway… it always feels good to give so the winner of the Burt Bees giveaway goes to Harlem Chic. There’s more giving away to come so stayed tuned this week while GT discuss some matters of the heart and home. And as always brings you the best in cute lifestyle stuff.

And oh snap son! Did you see dude pitch his shoes at Dubya this past Sunday? Dude was serious with his. Please discuss. And go on ahead and give GT some of your weekend beeswax.

I laughed when I saw the video. That man had good aim, if Bush hadn`t ducked the shoes would have hit him right in the face.

On the other hand, I feel angry because this is the least of what should happen to him. Dubya should be in prison, the Secret Service should surround him and arrest him, not the man trying to make a statement about the hundreds of thousands of his own people that have been killed because of Bush`s policies. So the inequality of life frustrates me…

I’d heard about the shoe incident. It’s funny and jacked up @ the same time. The amount of damage W has done to America and the world just sickens me. You saw ole Clint eh? LOL

The weekend was good. Had breakfast with an old friend I hadn’t seen in awhile. I did some cleaning and hung around the house because the rainy season is upon us in San Fran.

Listened to “Kind of Blue” by Miles and “Bitter” by Me’shell because they suited the rainy day reflection. ;)

    @Simone.
Kind of Blue always reminds me of my one of my film favorites “Mo Betta Blues.”

And yes the shoe incident is funny yet sad at the same time. And yep…saw Gran Torino and it was meh…not what I expected by any means…

You’re expressed sentiment is pretty much how a lot of Americans feels…the funny thing is how smug Bush handled the whole thing. He didn’t show an ounce of embarrassment.

And jaye…had that shoe landed…they would have found a way to roast that man alive over slow coals.

I heard about the shoe incident…I was laughing, wondering how Bush was able to bob and weave so quickly, and left feeling sadenned by the whole thing at the same time. Ah well…out with the old, in with the new…

My weekend was lovely. Hit up BF’s work holiday party on Friday and capped the night off with an all night reggae party. Saturday, went to a friend’s home for our yearly get-together. Sunday, had brunch with the girls, then stayed in all day with the honey. The only thing I’m complaining about is that I couldn’t have one more day in the weekend to lounge :( Such is life!

Not too much – broke the vacuum, bought a new one, cleaned house, laundry…oh wait! Had a dinner and wine party with the girls. Fun times.

And that shoe thing made me sad. It really did. I’m glad he has good reflexes.

    Hey G.

I should watch more t.v. – I heard briefly of the incident. The weekend was fast as usual, had breakfast with friends on Saturday – something I definitely need to do more of – went to JCPenny and Walmart with a friend on Friday as she Christmas shopped for her children – something I definitely will be doing LESS of.

Friday, I think I hurt someone’s feelings at a card game, Saturday I worked a double at my part time job, and yesterday I had my first argument/hurt feelings with my SO, it sucked, we made up, but I still haven’t fully forgiven the ‘excited verbal discourse’ (fussing, lol, forgive me i’m a poet), but it made my weekend kinda sucky, but it’ll pass… :)

    GT!!!

Girl, I have missed the blog!!! I was having some tech problems at work (folks were monitoring my posts–no joke), and the photos/comments would not show up on my iPhone. I get back, and you are doing giveaways!!! Wow!

    Happy Holidays!

PS: I am not really feeling the humor in the W incident; it is kind of embarrassing for all of us, I think.

    Oh boy!

    Thanks GT..wasn’t expecting the win! I love Burt’s Bees…and I love your blog…again…thanks much….

Yes. My weekend was filled with last minute shopping, time with the boyfriend, and time with my momma. It was her birthday on Saturday. I got her something from Overstock dot com and took her out to dinner and called it a day.

And that video from Bush is straight up embarrassing. I’m glad he didn’t get hurt cause that shoe had the force of Allah behind it! LOL…I can see Letterman having a field day with this….

How do I claim my prize?…

So true, but I’m sure the man expected that, he just didn’t care anymore. He knew the consequences of his actions and he did it anyways…he was trying to make a statement, not hurt Bush. He wanted to make his anger and disgust known to the world, and he definitely succeeded at that.

I got some shopping done, went to a holiday party and went out with hubby for a date. We had some snow and lots of cold. I read about the incident before I saw the footage. Too bad about the press secretary getting smacked in the eye with the mic stand. It was really sad, though, because word has it that the man was a good journalist. The prime minister (who knows his government is a total sham) wants the man imprisoned for seven years when there are so many people in America and Iraq who feel the same way as he does.
