the sunnier side.

A frequently asked perspective question:

“GT…all of these gift guides are great, the images look all pretty and what not but my pockets are on lean with it rock with it status right about now. To be quite honest…I’m marathon tired of looking at stuff I can’t afford. Have you not gotten the memo? President Elect Barry can’t be president fast enough for Operation: Broke USA, our country is melting like lava and China owns us. Even Shitty Diddy says he’s gonna fall back on being blinged out because he doesn’t want to pour salt on the open wounds of our scratching and surviving souls. And besides…I need to pay my rent and food don’t jump in the fridge. So in between time..can you offer me some relatable no money ideas that won’t make me feel like a total loser? Make it magical.

I hate you.

LInt Pocket Lurker.

GT Disclaimer.  Get Togetha knows that you don’t have to spend one rusty nickel to make the Holiday’s special. But yall know GT don’t succumb to none of that “the sky is falling, “there is no abundance, there’s not enough to go around” craptastic mentality. You can get those scary boogey man tactics anywhere on these mean CNN Internet Streets. You just won’t find it here. I’m not insensitive or impervious to the high’s and lows, peaks and valleys of cash flow. However, Get Togetha believes in abundance cause its so much nicer to wake up on the sunnier side of the bed. Ya digg?

…On to the truth of what I do…no cost/Low Costish means you’ll have to spend that other precious commodity: Time. Without further ado…here are GT’s 8 favorite no cost/low cost gifts.

  1. Share the gift of blog. Blogs are free, easy to set up, and allow for authentic creativity.
  2. Pass along a good read. Just make sure that person is a reader.
  3. Offer your services. Babysitting, food shopping for the elderly, house cleaning, dog walking.
  4. Create a CD mix.
  5. Write your most sincerest thank you, love, or “I appreciate you” letter.
  6. Plan an outing with someone you need to catch up with. Choose a date and stick with it.
  7. Share the gift of forgiveness. Need to forgive someone…nows the time to do it.
  8. Say “I love you.” You’ll be surprised how often the boat gets missed on this simple gesture.
Got it? Good. And that concludes GT’s Holiday Gift Guides for the 08′. Hope you enjoyed it.

Can I just say…I’m thankful for you & your blog. It’s not often that I come across a blog that sings to my eyes and put wings on my heart, thoughts, and creative side. Thank you for inspirational pictures, the good natured and down-to-earth feel of it all.

    Much Appreciation,

    Feliz

A mix cd is always a perfect gift. I remember when they were actual mixTAPES and you would make a little custom insert…A and B sides…ahhh, the good days.

Thanks for sharing this. We need this in this consumer-driven economy we’re in. People need to know they are worth so much more than the crap they’re trying to afford.
