musings: honest tea.

10

What the others say: Give from an empty cup. Demand from others what you won’t demand from yourself.  Live life to be personally offended. Give five minutes to yourself and divvy up the other 23 hrs and 55 minutes for the rest of the world. Mind other people business and ignore your health. Live doom and gloom. Make it your business to seethe & resent. Live hypocritical: Judge harshly. Criticize sharply…but don’t keep any mirrors around.

Lifestyle is: How you live your life. How you treat yourself. How you envision your life to be.  The type of partner you choose. The amount of risks you take. The type of service you give. The type of giving you give to yourself. How you pretty-fy yourself and your surroundings. How you see the world. The depth of your connection with passion. How empowered you feel. Wearing a thong or bloomers. Displaying a smile or  a mean mug. How brightly you shine from the inside out. The example you set for others.

Honest Tea:  ”What other people say” is how we learn how to put the gift that is our lives on our stoves backburner. We’ve been conditioned to believe that when a woman puts herself first that she should die a horrid death of fire and brimstone. But know this. You can’t give from an empty cup. It makes for p*ss-poor giving  and sets a “meh” example for others to follow. From the tiniest action of painting your fingernails to the largest act of “creating boundaries”  how you give to yourself teaches the world powerful lessons on the greatest love of all: The love of self.  It sounds trite; but the only thing your supposed to do is live happy. Then and only then is where you can begin to give your best giving. Since when is that never good enough?

I do feel the same and agree with CO about today’s topic. I do believe you can only be truly happy when you start with yourself. Thats by giving and doing things to better yourself FirSt. And not doing things that others say will be the best for you, just to be pleased by them. I’m been a work in process for almost a year now by trying to put myself 1st.

GT, living happy is the best we can for ourselves and others! We only got one life and we have to live it up. There are no do-overs.
