*gt basics: the bedroom
There’s many places I can go when writing about the bedroom but its best to simply say that this space’s number goal is rejuvenation. Anything less than this and its purpose isn’t being met. And this doesn’t make you a serial killer but I’m on team Oprah when it comes to having television in the bedroom. Just no. I just wholeheartedly believe that TV and tranquility don’t make for a great mix. I can also see your *eye roll* looking back at me. I know some of you can’t see the back of your eyelids unless the tube is there to lull you to sleep but GT stands on her sanctimonious ground. No TV in boudoir if you can help it. *Semi-Rant Over*. In case you missed it bath and foyer basics. Now on to the bedroom:
- Bed Frame. Now I’ll be the first to say that a bed frame isn’t the absolute first thing that you need to break you piggy bank for but it has to go on the list as the ultimate luxe bed experience. Here’s my dream bed by Anthropologie.
- Light Source. Bedside lighting is soft, romantic, and great for nights of cozying up with a book. Here’s the Genie Lamp Vase from Target.
- Dresser. This is pretty self explanatory, but you’d be surprised at how often this furniture find goes missing. Mandal Drawer $199.
- Time Source. Something basic and simple to help keep you from oversleeping. Travel Alarm Clock, $45.
- Quality Bed Sheets. This cannot be emphasized enough and your heart and cheek will thank you for it. I recommend 400 Thread Count/Organic Sheets for one of the best ways to treat yourself nice. Here’s some organic sheets for Tarjay.
- NightStand. Something with drawers to collect your thingamajiggys: books, pens, pins, rings, and assorted knickknacks. Tupelo Nightstand, $229.
- Sturdy Chair. You need a place to sit down and change your clothes on. Heaven knows that the bed isn’t the most comfortable place to put shoes on. Stockholm Easy Chair, $299.
