vote culture + giveaway!
Since March will be arriving on Monday I thought it befitting to tip the Get Togetha hat towards African inspired decor for a farewell to the fly by month of February. While I’m certainly no yes yes yall blackity black yall in full effect yalll I must say that is quite disheartening that my blog eye had to do a tap dance number work soooooo hard just to get a couple of titillating pics of well put together cultured decor. Either way I managed to get through a lot of ugly stuff and here’s the end result to satisfy whatever Black History Month tooth you have left in you. This week’s giveaway is sponsored by my friend Jordan who runs the lovely stationary shop Enormous Champion. Pay her site a little visit and leave a comment for a chance to win a set of these beautifully designed African textile inspired cards.
*Comments are closed/Desiree is this week’s winner!/email me at hello@gettogetha.com/thanks to all who entered.

Gosh – I’m torn between #1 and #3….but I really think #3 is speaking to my soul! LOL! #3 gets my vote.
Aziza — February 26, 2010 @ 10:01 am
I’m loving the couch in #1 and the bed in #3 – I think I will have to go with #1, cause that couch is calling me. I love the plates on the wall over the mirror, also.

Loove #3! That mask collection is so cool! And those cards are fab.

Call me crzy…but #4 is nice! I’m peeking at that sweet tub…reminds me of a well thought out sanctuary. Numero 1 is a top fav as well just cuz I’m a sucker for purples, chandeliers and…well everything in that room…lol!!!

I’m going with #2. So cozy! As a stationary whore—I mean, connoisseur, those cards are calling me!
First L8dy — February 26, 2010 @ 11:29 am
#4 is nice… But I just knew I would love #2 the first time I laid eyes on it…..***batting lashes and speaking with a southern belle accent***

I’m loving anything Moroccan right about now. Trying to incorporate it into my work so I can be around it..
enisio — February 26, 2010 @ 12:22 pm
#2. I love the serenity (and the sultriness) of it.
Brandie — February 26, 2010 @ 12:27 pm
So love this post! It’s always challenging to find African inspired decor! I’m definitely loving #1 as I can’t live without a whole lot of color action. The cards are also to die for!
TJ — February 26, 2010 @ 1:13 pm
They are all so great! I like 1 best, though because the Moroccan color scheme would coordinate with some of my Indian things from my hubby.
Desiree — February 26, 2010 @ 1:16 pm
The second room is so calm and neutral and I love the way the vertical striped rug adds even more length to the room.
Oh, and the cards are fabulous! They make me want to step away from the keyboard and write an old-fashioned letter…but after I clicking on that site.

ghana — February 26, 2010 @ 3:09 pm
Give me 2…Did you see the chair in the corner? The curtains and the high ceilings along with the bed being tucked away, it would make me feel like my bedroom is an escape.
kristine — February 26, 2010 @ 4:33 pm
I love the peacefulness of #2!
Shell — February 26, 2010 @ 8:19 pm

Hey GT-# 1 had me at hello, gurll…
joijoy — February 26, 2010 @ 11:43 pm
#1 is my fave with #4 running a close second
MeMe — February 27, 2010 @ 2:05 am
Once again it will not be an easy decision GT. Bedroom # 4 got my vote. It would be a nice getaway spot on resort island in front of the ocean. A getaway from the normal, everyday, regular routine of life. A place you can leave all the electronics behind the TV, computer, and phones (at least try). A Nice Relaxing Time for you with a special someone and enjoying nature for some (in my Cora Voice) Me Time. And do not forget Room Service LoL. A woman can DrEaM. Can you say I need a Vacation?
