It’s the hope and prayer of seeing someone snatch Beyonce’s million dollar wig piece as she finds out backstage that Jay dropped divorce papers on CNN. It’s wanting to see Lil Wayne procreate three sets of rapping sextuplets. It’s having Oprah finally coming out of the closet to marry Gail and having Madea Tyler Perry as the best man. It’s the hope of witnessing Lady Gaga’s penis fall out of her leopard leotard and Kelis becoming a welfare mom peddling WIC checks. It’s crossing your fingers that Rihanna will gain twenty more pounds in her forehead and the prayer that she’ll have a reunion with Chris Brown’s fist. It’s waiting for the day where Serena will pull out the razor that she uses to shave her back and the sweet confirmation of Amber Rose admitting the she’s a bot from Uranus and that Gabourney is the reincarnate Ms.Biggie Smalls.

On this week’s decor chopping block is Manhattan’s Upper Crust East side. It’s the neighborhood of pure bred dogs, escargot, fundraising and old money. This home’s vibe is filled with plenty of caviar and champagne tastes, First Dibs, Christies, and Sotheby’s auction finds. Never Ebay. And I’m sure there’s a maid’s quarters somewhere in this environment that was conveniently left out. And who doesn’t want a maid? Commenting on this is all about your gut reaction. Could you see yourself living here? Enjoying the ambience of a refined lifestyle or is this too stuffy biff-stiff for your tastes?

Sheila and her sessy bald head were first featured on Get Togetha back when only three unique monthly visitors cared to visit. And one of them was the hubby. Get who? Get Togetha? Ghettogetha? Get sheets? Get furniture? Gladly things have evolved. If I didn’t have AphroChic as my decor blog muse I would certainly have had one too many nights of crying myself to sleep and drowning my sorrows in a family size bag of chips. Needless to say Sheila’s a design friend in my head and I’m shocked I didn’t discover these limited edition Toile plates sooner….found here.

Since March will be arriving on Monday I thought it befitting to tip the Get Togetha hat towards African inspired decor for a farewell to the fly by month of February. While I’m certainly no yes yes yall blackity black yall in full effect yalll I must say that is quite disheartening that my blog eye had to do a tap dance number work soooooo hard just to get a couple of titillating pics of well put together cultured decor. Either way I managed to get through a lot of ugly stuff and here’s the end result to satisfy whatever Black History Month tooth you have left in you. This week’s giveaway is sponsored by my friend Jordan who runs the lovely stationary shop Enormous Champion. Pay her site a little visit and leave a comment for a chance to win a set of these beautifully designed African textile inspired cards.
